What a day it was photographing a long-awaited Immaculata Church San Diego wedding! After postponing their nuptials for two years due to the pandemic, this couple was more than ready to finally tie the knot and celebrate in style.

I arrived at the church and could immediately feel the excitement in the air as they did their first look. The pure joy on their faces as they laid eyes on each other for the first time that day was so heartwarming to capture. Then it was time for the ceremony, which was filled with heartfelt vows and happy tears from them and their loved ones.

Afterward, we headed to Balboa Park Alcazar Garden and Organ Pavilion for some portraits. The Spanish architecture and lush greenery provided such a beautiful backdrop. They were total naturals in front of the camera, which made my job a breeze.

But the real party started at Lot 8 – a super cool, repurposed parking lot. I had never shot there before and didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be a fantastic open-air venue with awesome decor. The succulent wall was a favorite! Twinkling lights and lively music set the tone for one epic celebration. The couple hit the dance floor, surrounded by family and friends who had been waiting just as long to toast their union.

As the night went on, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to be a part of this special day. The couple’s patience and perseverance had paid off, and you could see it in the way they looked at each other. It was a reminder that true love is worth the wait. I left with a full heart, honored to have documented such a joyful occasion. Cheers to many more years of happiness for this awesome couple!
