Capturing Love – San Diego Engagement Photographer | Carlsbad Beach Session
As a San Diego engagement photographer, it’s not uncommon for me to get asked by my couples to do a session at the beach. But who could blame them? After all, we have so many spectacular beaches and (mostly) perfect weather year-round. This makes it possible to have beach engagement sessions in the winter, which is exactly when this one took place, on a beautiful November evening.
Carlsbad Beach Session
I’ve shot intimate weddings and portrait sessions at Carlsbad beaches before but never at this exact spot. I was really glad the couple picked it because it turned out to be a great location! In fact, I think it’s one of my new favorites. The rocks really enhanced the scenery and I love the variety we got with the portraits on the rocks and on the beach.
We lucked out with the sunset too! I love it when the sky shows off for us and I get a beautiful color palette to work with in post-processing. Winter sunsets are the best! Plus, it helped that Marissa wore a long flowy pink dress that coordinated perfectly with the beach scenery and colors of the sunset. Just an FYI, I give my couples a comprehensive styling guide filled with tips on what to wear and how to get ready for your engagement session.
I hope you enjoy these engagement photos on the beach in Carlsbad, San Diego along with some fun photos of Marissa and Allen sharing a Guinness and some pizza. I really like it when couples incorporate things like this into their session! It makes it fun!
Not to mention, it’s a great way to get to know your San Diego engagement photographer in a relaxed setting. Then you won’t feel as nervous on your wedding day!
