A Perfect Choice for Intimate Wedding Ceremonies

 

San Diego Park wedding venues, like Felicita Park, are some of the best places to have an intimate wedding ceremony. That’s what Joshua and Mieko did!  I was very excited to photograph their wedding here as I’ve always wanted to check out this park. I had seen pictures of it before and it seemed like a really pretty place. In fact, parks like this with a natural setting, pretty trees, and boulders are some of my favorite places to photograph. I feel so lucky to live in San Diego where there are lots of gorgeous park wedding venues near me.

Lighting

One of the best things about having an intimate park wedding is that you can plan it so that the lighting is perfect for your portraits! That’s exactly what I did for this couple. I went and scouted the location in advance to determine the optimal time of day for bride and groom photos.  With this knowledge, we were able to thoughtfully plan the entire ceremony and celebration around the perfect lighting window.  Of course, you can do that for more formal weddings as well, but due to timeline constraints, you don’t always have the luxury of capturing portraits under ideal lighting conditions.

The Couple

Well, it turns out that location scouting worked out great for Mieko and Joshua as the lighting was absolutely magical! In fact, everything was just perfect for these two.

Mieko was absolutely glowing with her orchid-lined flower crown.  She and Joshua were really comfortable in front of the camera which made my job so easy. Additionally, I think being at a San Diego Park wedding venue in such a relaxed and intimate setting helped a lot.

Looking at their photos, it’s obvious that they are clearly head over heels for each other!  I tried out many poses on them and they were totally natural in front of the camera. Joshua even came up with some poses on his own!

I really love it when the grooms get into having their pictures taken.  It makes photographing the couple more fun!  In fact, I was kinda sad when the sun went down. But that’s okay because we got many stunning photos!
