I tried to include as much info as possible but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions. I want to make sure you are fully informed.

WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO SHOOTING WEDDINGS?

I won’t be up in your face all day with my camera, making you feel like you’re at a never-ending photo shoot.  Not only do I want you to have beautiful and tangible photos to remember your day but I also want you to enjoy it! I capture events as they naturally unfold while being as unobtrusive as possible.  I also know when to step in and guide when you need help with posing or drawing out a natural response.

WE ARE AWKWARD AT TAKING PHOTOS. CAN YOU HELP US?

I sure can!  If you look at my testimonials, you will see that many clients have said they felt very comfortable and natural taking photos with me and actually had fun! I will show you some quick and easy posing techniques and then help you to focus on each other rather than my camera lens.

DO YOU WORK OFF OF A SHOT LIST?

I typically don’t because I have photographed enough weddings to know all the standard shots that one would typically want.  Any experienced photographer who knows what their doing will not need a shot list. Plus, if I’m staring at a shot list all day, it’s guaranteed that I’ll be missing real moments. However, I do request a list for family formals and a couple of must-have shots.

DO WE GET ALL THE IMAGES?

Yes, with the exception of images that are duplicate, out of focus, where someone looks awkward or their eyes are closed.  This is industry standard.  Trust me, you don’t want these.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE GET?

Since every wedding is unique, it’s hard to quote exactly how many images you’ll get. However, past experience has shown about 50-75 images on average per hour of coverage.  But here’s the thing about being too focused on the number of images.  I’m a big believer in quality over quantity.  A gallery of 600 well curated and meaningful images has a lot more wow factor than 1000+ with a bunch of repetitive images thrown in just to justify the photographer’s value.

DO YOU EDIT ALL THE IMAGES?

Yes, I do standards edits on all the images which include color correction, contrast, saturation, rotating, sharpening, etc. In addition, I do enhanced edits and/or retouching on the sneak peak images which are the photographer’s pick of the best images that highlight your day.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS AND HOW WILL THEY BE DELIVERED?

Turnaround time is up to 2 weeks for sneak peek images and up to 8 weeks for the remaining images. Delivery will be from a private online photo gallery that you may share with your friends and on social media. Prints may also be ordered as well.

DO YOU PROVIDE RAW IMAGES?

I don’t provide RAW photos. That would be like asking a writer to hand over their rough draft. RAW images are like a diamond in the rough. They need a little bit of polishing to bring out their beauty. That’s where I come in. Not only are you hiring me to take photographs on your big day but also to apply my talent and skill to the post production process. I carefully go over every photo to make sure I have brought out their full potential. Some photos need more work than others but when the final process is complete and your gallery is presented, they will come out looking like a work of art.

HOW DO WE BOOK?

I email you a contract and an invoice for the retainer. Once everything is signed and your retainer is paid, your wedding date is booked. Remaining balance is due 14 days before the event.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?

I recommend booking with me as soon as you start your wedding planning.  Dates fill up fast and I want to make sure I have your date open.

CAN WE SKIP THE ENGAGEMENT SESSION AND USE IT AS A CREDIT FOR SOMETHING ELSE?

Unfortunately no. I offer the complimentary engagement session as a way for us to get to know each other. Meeting me beforehand and having photos done can help put you at ease on your wedding day when it’s time to take the romantic photos. This is why I include them in my wedding packages.

CAN YOU HELP WITH MY TIMELINE?

While I’m not a wedding coordinator, I would be happy to look over your timeline and give you suggestions for how to schedule events so that you have optimal time for portraits and lighting.

CAN YOU CHECK OUT MY VENUE?

Yes. Although chances are, I may have already worked at your venue, as I have done so at many locations in San Diego. And while it’s not necessary that I see it beforehand, I may come before the event or come early the day of to check it out.

DO YOU HAVE LIABILITY INSURANCE?

Yes and I am happy to provide your venue with a certificate of coverage if needed.

DO YOU HAVE BACK-UP EQUIPMENT?

Absolutely! I wouldn’t dream of photographing someone’s big day without back-up equipment.

WE CAN'T AFFORD YOU? WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

I’ve priced myself pretty competitively buuut…if your budget is slightly out of my price range and you really want me as your photographer don’t be afraid to talk to me about it.  I’ll offer some suggestions for budgeting or try and work with you if I can.  Just please keep in mind that this is how I support my family and keep my business going.  So only ask if you genuinely need it.

WE BOOKED! NOW WHAT?

First of all, we do a little happy dance!  Afterward, I’ll be in touch to schedule your engagement session which should be about 3-6 months from your wedding date.  I’ll also be checking in on you periodically to see how the wedding planning’s going and answer any questions.  And of course, I’m just a phone call away if you need anything.

Ready to Do This?
