Plan ahead! You can book your San Diego courthouse wedding appointment up to 7 weeks in advance online, and appointments tend to fill up quickly—especially for popular time slots.

As of 2026, San Diego courthouse wedding costs include a civil ceremony fee and a separate fee for your marriage license, depending on whether you choose a public or confidential license.

You can also purchase certified copies of your marriage certificate for $19 each. If you choose a public (non-confidential) license, certain family members are legally allowed to request a copy as well, which is something to keep in mind when deciding which option is right for you.

Given it’s a downtown San Diego location, with numerous tourist attractions, restaurants, and amenities abound, one might expect parking to be a challenge!
